The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a nice head kick!
Michaels lands with a thumping leg kick.
Michaels goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Michaels throws a head kick that misses.
Guiliano swings away with a body shot that misses
and Michaels counters with a body kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Michaels. That snapped Guiliano's head back.
Michaels misses with a wild combination.
Guiliano looks to throw the jab but Michaels is out of range.

Michaels fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Guiliano looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Guiliano tries to move into range but Michaels moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Michaels cracks Guiliano with a right hand to the side of the head.
Guiliano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Michaels but Michaels pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Michaels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A head kick from Michaels lands but Guiliano takes it in his stride.
Michaels lets loose with a powerful body kick. Guiliano will feel that in the morning.
Michaels lands a nice looking body shot.
Michaels connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Guiliano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guiliano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Guiliano controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Michaels tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Michaels wants to stand but Guiliano is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guiliano tries to stand but Michaels is controlling from the bottom.
Michaels wants to get back to his feet but Guiliano is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michaels thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Guiliano if he has to take too many more of those.

Michaels fakes the leg kick and cracks Guiliano in the body.
Michaels throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Michaels wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Michaels thuds his right hand into Guiliano's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Michaels scores with a jab. Guiliano acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Guiliano has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Michaels finds it's way round the side to connect with Guiliano's head.
Guiliano takes a kick to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shawn Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Michaels lands a big head kick that sends Guiliano tumbling to the mat! Michaels takes a step backwards and waves Guiliano back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Guiliano is rocked!
Michaels fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Guiliano to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Guiliano looks to clinch but Michaels throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Guiliano taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Shawn Michaels thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
