Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Petey Peloski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Grappling Wrestler! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peloski shoots in for a double leg but Wrestler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Wrestler throws a right and a left that both miss. Peloski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wrestler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Peloski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Wrestler looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Peloski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wrestler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Peloski is working hard here to advance position. Peloski drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wrestler dives on top into guard. Wrestler looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Peloski keeping moving, preventing Wrestler from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrestler looking to pass the guard. Peloski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wrestler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wrestler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Peloski is pulling down on Wrestler's head. It's preventing any offense from Wrestler, at least for the moment. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Peloski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wrestler defends it nicely. Peloski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Peloski feints and as Wrestler raises his hands in defense, Peloski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Peloski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Petey Peloski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wrestler thows a left - swing and a miss! Wrestler throws a series of punches but Peloski avoids them all with ease. Wrestler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peloski. Peloski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wrestler swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wrestler stuffs the takedown attempt from Peloski. Peloski gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peloski moves into the clinch. Peloski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wrestler keeps the fight on the outside. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peloski with a lazy takedown attempt and Wrestler counters with a nice uppercut. Peloski is breathing heavily. Wrestler throws a series of strikes that have Peloski backpedaling.
Peloski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peloski lands in his opponent's guard. Wrestler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Peloski! Wrestler avoids the attempt from Peloski to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peloski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wrestler's waist but Wrestler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peloski off to one side. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Peloski's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wrestler. Peloski pushes Wrestler off and scrambles back to his feet.
