Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Lapedis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Avalos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodger Lapedis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Avalos!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avalos throws the kick towards the body but Lapedis avoids it.

Avalos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lapedis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Avalos as he avoids it easily.

Avalos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lapedis feints and as Avalos raises his hands in defense, Lapedis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Avalos wants to stand up but Lapedis is controlling him.
Avalos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lapedis has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Avalos defend it? Lapedis steps over the head and cranks it - Avalos is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lapedis!
