Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Muak Mhawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jemarcus Quinn! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quinn misses with the combination.
Mhawk's corner calls for a 1-2. Mhawk obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jemarcus Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mhawk lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Quinn backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jemarcus Quinn has been cut. Mhawk slaps away a takedown attempt from Quinn, before circling back to the center of the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quinn misses with a takedown attempt and Mhawk counters by moving into the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mhawk as Quinn tries to tie him up. Quinn is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Muak Mhawk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jemarcus Quinn. Mhawk lands a body punch in the clinch. Quinn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Mhawk lands an elbow that stopped Quinn in his tracks for a moment. Mhawk lands an elbow inside.
That has opened up Jemarcus Quinn's cut even more. Mhawk has Quinn pushed against the cage. Quinn tries to throw a body punch but Mhawk avoids it by throwing Quinn back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mhawk creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Quinn's defenses. Knees in the clinch landing for Mhawk.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Mhawk gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Quinn.
Mhawk utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Quinn looks gassed! Mhawk is pushing Quinn up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mhawk blocks a body shot from Quinn. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mhawk tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Mhawk is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mhawk lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Quinn. Mhawk scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jemarcus Quinn's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Mhawk taking a breather. Mhawk lands an elbow inside.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jemarcus Quinn's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
