Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brent Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nas- Hate Me Now. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brent Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diego Rios! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter instigates a clinch. Carter has Rios pressed against the cage, preventing Rios from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Rios looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Carter keeps control of Rios as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rios wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The referee calls for Carter to work.
Carter seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Rios tries to break the clinch but Carter is controlling the position. Carter keeps control of Rios as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Carter just leaning against Rios, taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rios has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Rios wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carter displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rios up against the cage. Carter scores with a shoulder strike. Carter stalling in the clinch.
Carter misses with a knee strike.
Rios taking a breather. Carter drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rios postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rios, into his guard. Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carter throws a big right hand that misses. Carter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Carter throws a strike but Rios rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Carter trying to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rios trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom. Carter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rios's guard. Rios working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carter. Carter is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rios is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rios has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rios throws a strike but Carter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Carter lands a couple of digs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rios utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rios working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carter. Rios preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brent Carter dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Carter misses with a series of wild punches.
Carter closes the distance and clinches up with Rios, looking for a takedown. Carter pushes Rios against the cage but Rios circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Carter shoots in looking for a takedown. Rios tries to sprawl out of it but Carter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rios manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rios tries to bum rush Carter with a series of wild strikes but Carter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Carter moves into the clinch. Rios wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Carter slows down the pace here.
Rios breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rios keeps the fight on the outside. Carter slips a jab and a cross from Rios.
Carter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Carter lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Rios goes down and covers up as Carter starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brent Carter!
