Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Legeha Brandaho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Legeha Brandaho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ashton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brandaho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ashton wants to control from the top but Brandaho keeps moving.
Ashton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brandaho dives on top into guard.
Brandaho won't allow Ashton to sweep him here.

Ashton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brandaho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brandaho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brandaho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brandaho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ashton is on top in guard.
Ashton content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Brandaho has locked up a guillotine! Brandaho's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Ashton is holding on here and Brandaho must be using up a lot of energy. Ashton has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Brandaho gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
