Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aadilou Ankutse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ankutse comes to the cage accompanied by i ka kane . Nick Shields told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aadilou Ankutse! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Shields! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ankutse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shields paws at him with a jab and circles away. Aadilou Ankutse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shields scores with a hook to the body. Ankutse takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Ankutse is looking to clinch but Shields is avoiding it.
Ankutse throws a right and a left that Shields avoids nicely. Ankutse tries to clinch but Shields is having none of it. Ankutse tries to clinch up but Shields circles away and keeps his distance. Ankutse wants to clinch up but Shields keeps it at a distance. Shields closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ankutse to the mat! Ankutse manages to get full guard. Shields passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ankutse is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Shields is trying to get an arm triangle but Ankutse is defending well. Ankutse is trying to get back to half guard. Ankutse is not content to let Shields control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shields postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Shields creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Shields tries to advance to mount but can't. Ankutse is not content to let Shields control the position. Shields wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ankutse, who protects the arm well. Shields throwing shots but missing, from side control. Ankutse is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields has hold of Ankutse's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ankutse seems comfortable defending it but Shields has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ankutse is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ankutse is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shields couldn't care less - he's delighted!
