Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christina Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuomas Uusierkki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by her song. Uusierkki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. E-Z Rollers - Haze kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christina Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tuomas Uusierkki! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uusierkki clinches up with Ellis and pushes him back against the cage. Ellis jumps guard but Uusierkki stands there with Ellis around his waist. Ellis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Uusierkki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Uusierkki jumps guard and drags Ellis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ellis has gone for a leg lock! Uusierkki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ellis's guard. Uusierkki is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Uusierkki wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving. Ellis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Uusierkki working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Uusierkki trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom. Uusierkki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Uusierkki has gone for a leg lock! Ellis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Uusierkki's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uusierkki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ellis is working hard here to advance position. Ellis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Uusierkki's guard. Ellis seems to be working for a kimura but Uusierkki defends the submission attempt. Ellis wants to work for an arm triangle but Uusierkki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uusierkki looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ellis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uusierkki is just riding it out for now. Ellis eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ellis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uusierkki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ellis is working away from the top position though. Ellis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ellis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Uusierkki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ellis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ellis is trying to work for a kimura but Uusierkki is defending well.
Ellis wants to free his trapped foot but Uusierkki is holding on for dear life with his legs. Uusierkki is defending against the submission attempts here by Ellis.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Christina Ellis will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Uusierkki gets a clinch. Uusierkki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Uusierkki manages to end up in side control. Uusierkki misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Uusierkki is chipping away with strikes.
Ellis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Uusierkki's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Uusierkki working over Ellis with some ground and pound. Ellis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nice strikes from Uusierkki there. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Uusierkki connects with a nice short shot to Ellis's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Uusierkki taking a breather but there's no such thing in a fight! Ellis has locked on to a kimura from the bottom - he uses it to sweep and is now looking to finish from the top position! He's got it! Uusierkki has tapped! Great work by Ellis! Lay and pray doesn't pay, kids! Just remember, you heard it here first.
