Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshii Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JB Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama comes into the arena with Time to say Goodbye blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JB Costa! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Akiyama as he jumps to the side. Costa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Akiyama swivels and escapes. Akiyama closes the distance and clinches up with Costa, looking for a takedown. Akiyama pushes Costa against the cage but Costa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Costa drives through with a takedown into Akiyama's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Costa has gone for a leg lock! Akiyama slips out almost immediately though and dives into Costa's guard. Akiyama wants to control from the top but Costa keeps moving. Costa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Akiyama can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Costa keeping full guard, as Akiyama tries to pass. Akiyama winds up and cracks Costa with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Costa looking for subs from the bottom but Akiyama mounts him! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Costa can do anything to dispel that myth. Costa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Akiyama's guard. Costa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Akiyama is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Akiyama has escaped and now he's on top! Akiyama slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Yoshii Akiyama! Yoshii Akiyama retains his featherweight title! Yoshii Akiyama decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
