The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miike swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Penn, as that shot connected.
Miike moves out of range of the body kick from Penn.
Penn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miike manages to avoid it.
Miike scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Penn just misses with a punch to the body.
Miike scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Miike working the ground and pound effectively.
Miike tries to control but Penn wriggling away.
Miike controlling his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like Miike might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Penn is trying desperately to improve position.
Takeshi Miike has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Miike scores with a hook to the body. Penn takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Penn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Miike!
Miike really wants to buck Penn off and get back to his feet.
Miike is desperately trying to improve his position but Penn has a good base and remains in mount.
Miike is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Miike sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Miike escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Penn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Penn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Miike had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Penn defends it easily.
Miike lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Miike is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Penn rolls with it to try and escape but Miike cranks on the arm and Penn is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Takeshi Miike got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
