Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rupert Singh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Williamson!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williamson gets caught flat footed, as Singh shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Singh passes Williamson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Singh lands a nice short elbow.

Williamson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Singh performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Williamson is staying active underneath Singh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Williamson wants to improve his position but Singh is controlling well.
Williamson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Singh tries to stand and escape but Williamson is controlling the position.
Williamson works his way to full guard. Good work.

Williamson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Singh defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williamson is trying to control the position but Singh postures up.
Singh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Williamson looking for a sweep. Not yet Williamson, not yet.
Williamson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Singh manages to get himself to full guard.
Williamson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Williamson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Williamson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Williamson looking to sit in guard and control but Singh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Singh tries to free his leg and advance position but Williamson is retaining full guard.
Williamson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williamson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Singh wants to get back to his feet but Williamson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Singh wants to sweep but no luck.
Williamson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Singh's head.
Williamson passes into half guard.
Williamson is keen to just control but Singh is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Singh is trying to stand back up but Williamson is controlling him
Well, if Williamson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Williamson lands a nice short elbow.
Singh on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Singh tries to get out of the position.
Williamson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. William Williamson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Williamson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Singh was covering up waiting for the punch and Williamson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Williamson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williamson wants to pass the guard but Singh is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Williamson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Williamson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Singh throws a series of punches but Williamson avoids them all with ease.

Singh drives through with a takedown into Williamson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Singh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williamson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Singh has managed to get both his arms back between Williamson's legs - danger averted.
Singh has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Williamson is proving hard to escape from.
Williamson is breathing heavily.
Singh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Williamson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Williamson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Singh is just riding it out for now. Williamson eventually gives up the hold.
Williamson is looking to advance position but Singh won't allow it.

Williamson pushes down on Singh's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Williamson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Singh is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). William Williamson!
