Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Malham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivey comes to the cage accompanied by Friday. The crowd seem to be enjoying Malham's choice of entrance music: Jesse Kaikuranta - Vie mut kotiin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Ivey.
Ivey bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Malham feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Malham postures up in Ivey's guard and throws a big left but Ivey blocks it.

Ivey has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malham looks to score with a jab to the body but Ivey is just out of range.

Ivey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Malham.

A low kick from Malham is predictable there
and Ivey counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Malham fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ivey lands a really nice looking cross but Malham seems unphased.
Ivey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Malham takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ivey misses the shot to the body.
Ivey drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malham throws a lazy right hand but Ivey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Malham scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ivey lands with a shot to the body.
Ivey scores with a jab to the body.
Ivey throws a body punch but Malham moves out of range.
Malham is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Ivey misses the target.
Malham connects with a nice looking jab.
Ivey tries to score with a low kick but Malham moves his leg out of the way.

Ivey drops Malham with a beautiful combination! Malham stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ivey is looking for the KO!


It looks like John Malham has been cut.
Ivey misses with a hook to the body

and Malham counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malham is controlling the pace.
Malham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ivey keeps working.

Malham is looking for a kimura here.
Ivey tries to roll over but Malham keeps him under control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Malham lands a nice short elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Ivey dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fight stays on the outside here - Ivey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ivey lands with a nice body punch.
Malham throws a body kick that misses
and Ivey counters with a right hand to the body.
Malham misses the shot to the body.
Ivey takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ivey is looking to wear down Malham with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Malham takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Malham looks to throw the jab but Ivey is out of range.
Malham drops his hands momentarily and Ivey takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Malham throws a low kick, looking for Ivey's leg but Ivey calmly moves out of range.
Malham bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Malham counters with an outside leg kick.
Ivey scores with a spinning back kick!
Ivey lands an overhand right.
Ivey throws a right hand that misses
and Malham counters with a leg kick.
Ivey lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Malham lands with a kick to the temple. Ivey shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Malham on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Malham is breathing heavily.
Ivey connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Phil Ivey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ivey thuds his shin into the meat of Malham's side.
Ivey lands a jab to the head.


Malham is rocked!
Phil Ivey is winning the standup battle so far.
Ivey tries to work over Malham's front leg with a kick but Malham checks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ivey moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ivey pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ivey lands a big uppercut and Malham crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Malham looks OK. Ivey waves Malham back to his feet!
Malham is still on wobbly legs! Can Ivey finish him?
Ivey misses with a head kick.
Ivey blocks a low kick nicely.
Ivey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Malham walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Ivey! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Phil Ivey!
An out of breath Phil Ivey thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
