Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marin Pivchy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pivchy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Malangul. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marin Pivchy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Finch! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pivchy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Finch counters with a takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Finch sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Pivchy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Finch working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Pivchy wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Finch throwing shots but missing, from side control. Finch tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Pivchy is trying to buck Finch off. Finch postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch tries for a kimura but Pivchy is defending well. Pivchy is being controlled here. Finch tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Finch misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Pivchy is letting Finch control him for a moment. Finch prevents Pivchy from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pivchy prevents Finch from improving position. Pivchy parries the strikes from Finch easily there. Finch is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pivchy to escape.
Finch trying to control the action but Pivchy is working from the bottom. An elbow from Finch crashes against the mat.
Finch is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pivchy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ground and pound from Finch seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Finch throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Finch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pivchy, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pivchy is not content to let Finch control the position. Finch in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Pivchy wants to get back to his feet but Finch is dominant here and he's now got Pivchy's back! Finch throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Pivchy controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Pivchy is breathing heavily. Finch has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Pivchy! Can he survive? No! He's out! Finch gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
