Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Theodor Isaacks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paeng Kupal! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Isaacks lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Isaacks fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Isaacks lands with a light punch inside. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Isaacks prevents Kupal from breaking the clinch. Kupal wants a takedown but no success here.
Isaacks working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kupal tries to score a body lock takedown but Isaacks shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Isaacks digs a right hand underneath Kupal's ribcage. Kupal let out a lung full of air as it connected. Isaacks scores with an uppercut up the middle. Isaacks manages to break the clinch.
Kupal tries to clinch but Isaacks moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kupal doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Isaacks looks to land a combination but Kupal avoids it well. Isaacks scores with a jab. Kupal acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kupal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Theodor Isaacks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paeng Kupal. Kupal looks gassed! Isaacks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kupal fails to land the takedown. Isaacks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kupal has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Paeng Kupal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Isaacks lands a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Isaacks stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kupal is trying hard to land a takedown here. Isaacks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Isaacks stuns Kupal with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Isaacks cracks Kupal's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Kupal slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Isaacks can do further damage! This one is done, son!
