The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masterson avoids the body shot from Arca.
Masterson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The fighters circling - Masterson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Arca misses with a leg kick.
Arca lands a really nice looking cross but Masterson seems unphased.
Arca blocks a low kick nicely.
Masterson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Masterson clinches up against the cage.
Masterson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Arca tries to pull guard but Masterson won't allow it.
Arca scores with a nice hook to the head.
Arca blocks an uppercut.

Arca has hold of one of Masterson's legs. Masterson is fighting the takedown attempt but Arca gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Masterson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Arca's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Arca's back!

Arca is looking for a sweep. Masterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arca is pressing down on Masterson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Arca is trying to control the position but Masterson postures up.
Arca wants to sweep here but Masterson controlling him for the moment.

Masterson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Arca, up you get!

Masterson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Arca.
