Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Hummels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan McCory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hummels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan McCory! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hummels throws a body punch but McCory moves out of range. Hummels avoids the body shot from McCory.
McCory misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hummels shoots in and bounces McCory off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. McCory wants to stand but Hummels is controlling the position. Hummels missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hummels content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hummels stands up over McCory, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hummels is working McCory over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hummels prevents McCory from getting back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hummels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hummels scoring with punches to the head and body. Hummels is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hummels working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. McCory keeping moving, preventing Hummels from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCory working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hummels. Hummels trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hummels wants to control from the top but McCory keeps moving. Hummels chips away with some ground and pound. Hummels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCory is keeping the position for now. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McCory holds on and takes a little breather. McCory tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hummels throws an elbow that misses. McCory uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hummels's guard. Nice move by McCory! Hummels kicks McCory off and gets to his feet. Hummels has closed the distance and engaged McCory in a clinch.
McCory prevents the takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hummels has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McCory is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hummels breaks the clinch.
Hummels shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McCory as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Hummels. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hummels fails with the takedown. A punch lands to the side of Hummels 's head but he takes it in his stride. McCory connects with a single shot there. McCory throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McCory scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. McCory works Hummels's body with a nice hook. McCory throws a right and a left that both miss. McCory throws a series of punches but Hummels moves out of range. Dan McCory seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from McCory.
Hummels fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. McCory keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hummels misses with a takedown attempt - McCory sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hummels shoots in but no luck this time. McCory scores with a hook. Hummels throws a wild hook but McCory just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Hummels gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - McCory raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan McCory! During a confident post fight interview, Dan McCory thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
