PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Declan Duddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Ferrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferrall has chosen Pantera's Domination as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Declan Duddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Ferrall!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrall takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ferrall scores with a hook to the body. Duddy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ferrall throws a head kick but Duddy moves out of range.
Duddy misses with a few strikes there.
Ferrall is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ferrall lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Some wild striking there from Duddy.
Duddy throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Ferrall counter with a right hand.
Ferrall lands a nice hook to Duddy's body. Duddy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ferrall connects with a good right hand that stumbles Duddy. Duddy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ferrall does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Duddy throws a series of punches but Ferrall avoids them all with ease.

Duddy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Ferrall closes the distance and clinches up with Duddy, looking for a takedown. Ferrall pushes Duddy against the cage but Duddy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Duddy throws a series of punches but Ferrall avoids them all with ease.
Ferrall avoids a kick to the body.

Duddy fails to land with a series of punches.
Ferrall misses with a body kick.
Ferrall slips a jab and a cross from Duddy.
Ferrall moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Duddy lands a head shot.

and Ferrall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Duddy's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Duddy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferrall is one step ahead there.
Duddy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Duddy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ferrall working some strikes from top position.
Ferrall trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ferrall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ferrall passes Duddy's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ferrall lands with a punch from half guard.

Ferrall is looking for a kimura here.
Ferrall takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Ferrall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ferrall is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Ferrall is keen to just control but Duddy is a slippery customer.
Ferrall sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Duddy defending well though.
Ferrall has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duddy is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ferrall wants to sweep but no luck.
Duddy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Duddy gets to his feet - Ferrall follows without any prompting.
Duddy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ferrall looks to score with a jab to the body but Duddy is just out of range.
Ferrall slips a straight right by Duddy.
Duddy moves out of range as Ferrall throws a body kick.
Duddy lands with a nice combination. Ferrall backs away looking to recover.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Ferrall dominated that round.
That's time! Duddy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Declan Duddy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Duddy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ferrall throws a right hand that Duddy ducks under and follows up with a left that Duddy also avoids with ease.
Ferrall avoids a punch combination nicely.
Duddy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Duddy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ferrall counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Duddy throws a low kick but Ferrall moves out of range easily.
Ferrall goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ferrall changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ferrall lands a nice looking body shot.
Ferrall lands a nice shot that snaps Duddy's head back.
Ferrall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Duddy throws a right hand that Ferrall ducks under and follows up with a left that Ferrall also avoids with ease.

Ferrall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Duddy.
Duddy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ferrall jabs Duddy to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Ferrall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Duddy's half guard.
Nice strikes from Ferrall there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duddy is in trouble now - Ferrall has advanced to mount!
Ferrall lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Ferrall working away from the top, dropping strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ferrall scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Duddy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The referee warns Duddy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Duddy is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferrall postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Duddy in real trouble here! The ref calls for Duddy to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Ferrall!
In his post fight interview, Scott Ferrall started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
