Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sparky Probert! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Probert scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Bob drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Bob throws a strike aimed at the side of Probert's head but Probert avoids it well. Bob creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Probert sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Probert is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Bob in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Probert parries the strikes from Bob easily there. Bob is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Probert to escape.

Bob throws a strike but Probert rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Probert prevents Bob from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bob wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bob on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bob tries to get out of the position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Probert preventing the sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bob is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Bob is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Probert is controlling him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Billy Bob. Probert throws a jab but it's blocked by Bob. Probert is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bob rather than just go for the knockout. Probert just misses with a punch to the body.

Bob drops an elbow to the side of Probert's head. Bob missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bob thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Bob sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Probert defending well though. Bob passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Probert! Probert is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Bob lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bob lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Probert hang on? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Poor strikes thrown by Bob there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
