Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chase Fowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adu Kumara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kumara has chosen Im the Man as his entrance music. Adu Kumara will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chase Fowler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adu Kumara!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fowler stuffs the takedown.
Kumara doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fowler counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Chase Fowler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adu Kumara.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fowler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Fowler frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kumara tries to hold on but Fowler postures up.
Kumara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fowler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fowler lands a nice shot to the head.


It looks like Adu Kumara has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fowler has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kumara's face.

Fowler looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Fowler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kumara can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fowler is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Fowler extends the arm and Kumara is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chase Fowler!
An out of breath Chase Fowler thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
