The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Belfort's calf.
Gomez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gomez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
It looks like Vitor Belfort has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Belfort misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gomez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Belfort throws a series of punches but Gomez avoids them all with ease.
Belfort misses with a double jab.
Gomez swats away the attempt to clinch by Belfort.
Belfort tries to clinch but Gomez moves out of range.
Gomez lands a hook that stumbles Belfort back into the cage. Gomez follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Belfort to the canvas! Gomez pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Belfort has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Palito Gomez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
