The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves moves into the clinch successfully.

Graves tries to bum rush Anello with a series of wild strikes but Anello uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Anello is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Graves had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That was a close round but I would say that Gustav Graves will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Graves postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Graves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Graves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Anello manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Graves has Anello in his guard.
Anello must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
