Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox is looking to clinch but Montoya is avoiding it.
Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cox fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Montoya lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cox's sensitive parts. Cox tries to keep at a distance but Montoya has taken the fight into the clinch. Cox tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Montoya wants to pass the guard but Cox is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Montoya throws a leg kick but Cox sees it coming and checks it nicely. Montoya clinches up against the cage. Montoya escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cox closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Montoya tries to get back to half guard but can't. Montoya wants to control but Cox postures up. Cox is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Montoya is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cox is breathing heavily. Cox is looking to take a break and control but Montoya is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Montoya is trying to control Cox's posture but Cox avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montoya lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cox! Cox manages to control the position for a moment. Montoya trying to control but Cox is having none of it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Andres Montoya just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cox tries to clinch up and Montoya counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Montoya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montoya manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montoya wants to pass the guard but Cox is keeping the position. Cox can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Montoya controls the pace. Montoya passes Cox's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Montoya is figuring out what he wants to do next. Montoya trying to control from half guard but Cox is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andres Montoya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Montoya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Montoya won't allow Cox to sweep him here. Montoya looking to pass the guard. Montoya trying to control but Cox is working from the bottom. Montoya tries to free his leg and advance position but Cox is retaining full guard. Cox not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Montoya slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Montoya is pushing down on Cox's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cox is fighting to maintain full guard but Montoya has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montoya is thwarting Cox's attempts to control the position. Cox is looking for a sweep. Montoya is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Montoya is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Cox wants to control but Montoya is keeping busy.
Montoya seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Cox tries to kick Montoya off but Montoya keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Montoya pulls his head out easily. Cox trying to control but Montoya postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Montoya counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Montoya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cox counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Montoya's guard now. Montoya trying to keep a closed guard but Cox is proving a slippery customer.
Cox stands and steps away. Montoya gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Cox takes the fight into the clinch. Montoya is looking to break free of the clinch but Cox has double underhooks. Cox breaks from the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Montoya trying to control the position from guard on top but Cox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Montoya postures up.
Cox is really struggling to control Montoya but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Andres Montoya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Montoya has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
