Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lachance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reggie Turner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Lachance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Turner!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lachance walks forward, straight into a front kick from Turner.
Lachance fails with an attempt to clinch.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Some wild striking there from Turner.
Turner throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lachance's head.
Lachance shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Turner but Turner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Turner tries to land a front kick but Lachance steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lachance swats away the attempt to clinch by Turner.
Turner is looking to clinch but Lachance is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lachance clinches up with Turner and pushes him back against the cage.
Lachance jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Turner walks away with a smile on his face. Lachance gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Turner scoring well with a low kick there.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A bone on bone clash there as Lachance blocks the leg kick.
Turner throws a hook but Lachance blocks it.
Lachance walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Lachance counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Turner moves into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Turner wants to stand but Lachance is controlling the position.
Lachance stands and throws Turner's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Turner is looking for a sweep.

Lachance thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lachance advances to mount.

Turner is trying to escape the mount.

Turner seems a little lost for a moment, as Lachance dominates the positioning.

Lachance lands with some strikes.
Lachance lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The referee warns Turner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


That has opened up Reggie Turner's cut even more.
Turner's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turner wants to control but Lachance is having none of it.

Turner is desperately trying to improve his position but Lachance has a good base and remains in mount.
Turner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Lachance is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Turner is surviving well by controlling Lachance's body position as best he can.
Lachance can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Turner is looking to escape.

Turner wants to control but Lachance is having none of it.
BOOM! Lachance connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Lachance is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Turner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Turner wants to hold on but Lachance pushes him away.
The referee warns Turner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lachance trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lachance connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Turner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Turner is looking to clinch.
Lachance moves out of range as Turner throws a body kick.

Turner closes the distance and clinches.
Lachance tries to pull guard but Turner won't allow it.
Turner misses with a knee to the head.
Turner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Turner pushes Lachance back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Lachance is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Turner to keep the fight standing.
Turner gets underhooks to prevent Lachance's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lachance. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turner is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Lachance jumps guard but Turner turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Turner throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lachance blocks it with crossed arms.

Turner wants to control from the top but Lachance keeps moving.
Turner throws a big right hand that misses.

Turner trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lachance's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Turner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lachance is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Reggie Turner.

Lachance seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Lachance.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lachance, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
