Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jaxon Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tex Bighorn! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Bailey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bailey takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Bailey turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bighorn lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Jaxon Bailey has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Bighorn drops Bailey with a nice combination! Bighorn dives into Bailey's guard, looking to finish!
Bailey is rocked! Bailey keeping full guard, as Bighorn tries to pass. Oh Bailey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Bighorn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bailey seems to have got his legs back now. Bighorn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bighorn looking to pass the guard. Bighorn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bighorn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bailey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bighorn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bailey is keeping the position for now. Bailey trying to keep a closed guard but Bighorn is proving a slippery customer.
Bailey keeping full guard, as Bighorn tries to pass. Bighorn throwing strikes from guard but Bailey blocks nicely. Bighorn is in close to Bailey's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bighorn pushes down on Bailey's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bighorn works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bailey taking shots to the head. Bighorn lands with some strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Poor strikes thrown by Bighorn there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Bighorn putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Bailey wants to control but Bighorn is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bighorn looking to ground and pound but Bailey is blocking nicely. Bighorn cracks Bailey with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bighorn lands a big shot to the head and Bailey winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
