Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Amokachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amokachi has chosen Fuck The Police as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Amokachi!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amokachi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Amokachi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Amokachi distracts Jackson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Amokachi stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson.
Amokachi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Amokachi chips away with some ground and pound.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Amokachi drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Amokachi off! Amokachi jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Amokachi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Amokachi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Amokachi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Amokachi wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Amokachi drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Amokachi off! Amokachi jumps back into Jackson's guard.

Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Amokachi stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Amokachi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Amokachi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Amokachi is working Jackson over with some ground and pound from side control.
Amokachi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Amokachi has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Amokachi has hold of Jackson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jackson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Amokachi cranks the arm and Jackson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jackson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). David Amokachi!
David Amokachi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
