Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stock Pile (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and How Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). How Long has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stock Pile! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, How Long! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pile throws a jab but it's blocked by Long. Pile throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Pile throws a low kick but Long avoids it. Long works the jab nicely. A low kick from Pile is predictable there and Long counters with a shoot takedown. Pile fights it but they end up in guard. Long with a flurry of punches that miss. Long looking to pass the guard. Long postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Long has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Long wants to pass the guard but Pile is keeping the position. Pile is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Long throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long stands up and waves to Pile to follow him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pile is defended easily by Long. Pile misses with a body shot.
A leg kick checked by Long. Pile throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Long tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pile is in Long's guard. Pile got a little sloppy there for a moment and Long has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pile has managed to get both his arms back between Long's legs - danger averted. Long has control of Pile's left arm, preventing Pile from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long tries to land a sweep but no joy. Long controlling Pile's posture. Long working for a triangle but Pile defends it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pile throws a big right hand that misses. Long looking to control.
Long wants to sweep here but Pile controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. How Long wasn't active enough on the ground. Long gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pile. Pile is looking to chop away at Long's legs. Long jabs at Pile's body. A swing and a miss from Pile. Long gets caught flat footed, as Pile shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Long keeping moving, preventing Pile from controlling successfully. Pile throws a strike but Long rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pile is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Long trying to control but Pile is working from the bottom. Long controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Long won't allow Pile to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Long tries to free his leg and advance position but Pile is retaining full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
How Long has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Pile misses with a straight left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
How Long dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Long tries to close the distance and clinch but Pile swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pile needs to keep his hands up - Long had a free shot at his head there. Pile doesn't succeed with the takedown and Long counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pile's guard now. Long wants to control from the top but Pile keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Long accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Long trying to control but Pile is working from the bottom. Long loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Long pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pile is keeping the position for now. Long lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pile avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Long stands up over Pile, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Long postures up.

Long is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Long stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pile swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pile not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pile wants to sweep here but Long controlling him for the moment. Long drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pile manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Long has Pile in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pile stops Long from standing up. Pile pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Long is keeping the position for now. Pile stopping the sweep attempt from Long. Pile throws a big right hand that misses. Pile trying to control the position from guard on top but Long is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Stock Pile wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Long rushes Pile and presses him up against the cage. Pile has a couple of punches blocked by Long.
Long works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Long thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Long trying to control but Pile is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Long content to stall in guard here. Pile avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
How Long showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Pile throws a looping overhand right but Long ducks down to avoid it. Pile tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Long stuffs the takedown attempt from Pile. Pile gets slowly back to his feet. Long moves into the clinch. Long breaks from the clinch.

Long fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Long uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pile. Long takes a shot right to the bread basket. Pile ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Long moves away. Long keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pile finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Long throws an overhand right that lands on Pile's shoulder, as Pile tries to avoid the shot. Good work by Long as he checks the leg kick. Pile throws a series of punches but Long moves out of range. Long tries to clinch up but Pile circles away and keeps his distance. Stock Pile seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pile does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Long manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pile on his heels. He'll look to pass Pile's guard now, I'm sure. Pile tries to land a sweep but no joy. Long trying to control the position from guard on top but Pile is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pile wants to sweep but no luck. Pile is trying to keep Long in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pile keeping full guard, as Long tries to pass. Pile working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Long. Pile keeping moving, preventing Long from controlling successfully. Pile is trying to control the position from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Long jabs Pile to the body, keeping him at a distance. Long moves into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pile wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Long has him pressed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Pile backwards. Pile breaks the clinch.
Long gets a double leg takedown into Pile's guard. Long controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Long postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stock Pile has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pile is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are battling for position here. Long manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Long manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pile manages to get himself to full guard.
Long postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Long drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pile looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pile looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pile! Pile working the ground and pound but Long is defending the strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pile in side control, throwing shots but Long defends. Long sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. How Long is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Long slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! How Long comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Long has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
