The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lev. Lev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Bel Lev has been cut.
No luck for Gomes with that takedown attempt.
Gomes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lev with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gomes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gomes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lev.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gomes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lev has eaten all the pies!
Lev has his foot on Gomes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gomes works his way back into a safe position though.
Lev throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gomes uses it to pass to side control.
Lev is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gomes is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Lev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gomes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gomes's back!
Gomes breaks Lev's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Gomes tries to stand but Lev is controlling from the bottom.
Gomes wants to control from the top but Lev keeps moving.
Gomes wants to stand but Lev has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lev has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gomes doesn't defend quickly enough and Lev has managed to lock this one up! Can Gomes escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Lev on a fantastic submission victory.
