Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owen Wash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunimitsu Tezuka! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tezuka looks for a takedown but Wash sprawls well. A head kick by Wash misses and Tezuka counters with a lovely shot to the body. Tezuka closes the distance and clinches. Tezuka looking to stall.
Tezuka keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wash's efforts to push away. A frustrated look appears on Wash's face as he tries to break the clinch. Tezuka jumps guard but Wash turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Wash is trying to break the clinch but Tezuka has him pressed against the cage. Wash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Tezuka clinches. Tezuka breaks the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wash wants to get up but he can't break Tezuka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tezuka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tezuka wants to sweep here but Wash controlling him for the moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tezuka lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wash! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
