Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nicky Fernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fabio Vendetta!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vendetta jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Vendetta fails to land with a series of punches.
Vendetta just misses with a punch to the body.
A jab from Fernandez misses.
Vendetta ducks under a wild hook from Fernandez.

Fernandez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vendetta on his heels. He'll look to pass Vendetta's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Vendetta looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fernandez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fernandez works his way into full mount!
Fernandez breaks from Vendetta's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Vendetta is bucking up trying to escape but Fernandez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Fernandez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Vendetta can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vendetta keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fernandez wants to control the pace but Vendetta is squirming around nicely.

Fernandez in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Vendetta working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fernandez scores with a couple of good head shots there.


It looks like Fabio Vendetta has been cut.
Fernandez wants to control the pace but Vendetta is squirming around nicely.
Vendetta takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vendetta wants to hold on but Fernandez pushes him away.
Fernandez working Vendetta over with strikes here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fernandez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Vendetta is rocked!
Fernandez wants to control the pace but Vendetta is squirming around nicely.
Fernandez postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Vendetta in real trouble here! The ref calls for Vendetta to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicky Fernandez!
