The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono tries to bum rush Takiyama with a series of wild strikes but Takiyama uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ono stalks Takiyama and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Takiyama's face. Takiyama staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Tetsuo Takiyama has been cut.
Ono avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takiyama moves in looking to clinch but Ono pushes him off.
Ono swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ono lands a left and a right that sends Takiyama crashing to the canvas! Ono dives into mount looking to finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
