Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Retsu Kaioh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norman Steel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Norman Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Retsu Kaioh! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaioh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Steel to score an easy takedown into full guard. Steel scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kaioh has Steel pulled in close to control his posture. Kaioh trying to control the position.
Kaioh wants to hit a switch here but Steel passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kaioh there! Steel trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kaioh slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Steel wants to pass to mount but Kaioh is defending the position. Kaioh wants to get back to full guard. Kaioh has hold of Steel's hands but Steel slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kaioh on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Steel seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaioh tries to get to full guard but Steel has control of the leg. Kaioh blocking the ground and pound attempt from Steel. Steel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kaioh's head. Steel throwing shots but Kaioh is blocking nicely. Steel scoring with strikes to the body and head. Steel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Steel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kaioh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Steel is thwarting Kaioh's attempts to control the position. Steel wants to pass the guard but Kaioh is defending well. Kaioh taking some punishment here, with Steel in his half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Steel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kaioh is looking to control Steel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kaioh avoid being mounted? Steel missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kaioh works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel lands a couple of decent looking shots. Steel wants to pass the guard but Kaioh is keeping the position. Kaioh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steel is one step ahead there. Steel is looking to work some ground and pound but Kaioh has wrist control. Kaioh controlling the position. Steel scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Steel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Steel wants to control from the top but Kaioh keeps moving. Kaioh working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Steel. Steel wants to control from the top but Kaioh keeps moving. Steel wants to get up but he can't break Kaioh's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kaioh keeping moving, preventing Steel from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Norman Steel. Steel throws a nice looking combination but Kaioh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Steel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kaioh circles away. Retsu Kaioh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kaioh fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Steel swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kaioh. Steel fails with the takedown and Kaioh counters with a body kick that stops Steel in his tracks momentarily. Kaioh clinches up with Steel and pushes him back against the cage. Steel avoiding damage as Kaioh throws knees to the body.
Steel is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Norman Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice elbow from Kaioh. Kaioh connects with a knee to the head.
Steel is trying to push Kaioh away but Kaioh has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Steel fails to pull guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kaioh taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Steel scores with an uppercut up the middle. Kaioh lands an elbow inside that Steel shrugs off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaioh lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Kaioh lands a damaging elbow. Steel goes for a takedown attempt but Kaioh pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Steel is breathing heavily. Kaioh tries to clinch there but Steel circles away.
Kaioh throws a quick inside leg kick. A decent looking body kick lands there for Kaioh. Kaioh lands a nice leg kick that just misses Steel's sensitive parts. Steel tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Kaioh fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Steel. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kaioh scores with a decent looking hook. Kaioh lands with a shot to the body. Kaioh connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kaioh throws a quick head kick that knocks Steel silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Kaioh is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Retsu Kaioh! Retsu Kaioh thanked the fans post fight for their support.
