PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samurai Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waters has chosen 50 Cent - Ready for War as his entrance music. Dwayne Waters will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Samurai Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dwayne Waters!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jack gets a clinch.
Jack throws a knee to the head but misses.
A right handed body shot lands from Jack.
Jack lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jack landing knees to the head.


It looks like Dwayne Waters has been cut.
Jack digs a right hand underneath Waters's ribcage. Waters let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jack tries to throw a body punch but Waters avoids it by throwing Jack back against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jack obliges.
Jack lands with a short shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Waters can't get the takedown.
Jack struggles to land a body shot inside as Waters controls his hands.
Jack tries a knee to the head but Waters blocks it.
Waters is trying to break the clinch but Jack has him pressed against the cage.
Jack throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jack tries to land a knee to the head but Waters blocks with his arms.
Jack unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Waters wants to break free but Jack has control.
Waters wants to get back to striking at distance but Jack won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Waters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jack misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Waters throws a body punch but Jack moves out of range.
Jack throws a front kick that sends Waters stumbling back into the cage.
Waters is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jack chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Jack looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Waters shoots in and drives through. Jack sprawls well.
Waters on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Jack lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Waters circles away quickly and effectively.
Waters circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jab from Jack.
Waters swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Waters chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jack can pounce on him.
Jack on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Waters finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Waters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jack sprawls well initially but Waters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Waters prevents Jack from standing back up.
Jack keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jack manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Waters's guard.

Waters looking for a guillotine here but Jack defends easily.
Jack postures up in Waters's guard and throws a big left but Waters blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Waters keeping moving, preventing Jack from controlling successfully.
Jack is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Waters is looking for a triangle but Jack pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jack wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Samurai Jack wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A head kick misses from Jack.
Waters takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


Waters is rocked!
Jack pounces like a tiger and cracks Waters with a vicious hook! Waters is down but not out! Jack follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Samurai Jack!
Samurai Jack seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
