Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Lima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva lands a two punch combo.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lima circles away quickly and effectively. Silva lands with a nice combination. Lima backs away looking to recover. Silva throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Silva throws a series of punches but Lima moves out of range. Silva fails to land with a series of punches.

Lima throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lima off to one side. Silva shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lima eats them both and turns towards Silva to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Lima changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Lima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lima working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there. Lima remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Lima advances nicely into full mount. Silva has left one of his arms exposed and Lima doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Silva screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
