Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dead Ranger!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Penn thumps Ranger with a low kick.
Penn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ranger on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A solid leg kick lands there for Penn.
Penn throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dead Ranger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn wants to clinch up but Ranger keeps it at a distance.
Ranger chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Penn can pounce on him.
Ranger on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Penn. Penn obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn lands with a good body shot.
Nice straight punches there by Penn. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Penn.
Ranger throws a left and a right that both miss
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Dead Ranger has been cut.
Ranger throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Penn counters with a nice uppercut.
Ranger looks gassed!
Ranger defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Penn.
Penn scores with a leg kick.
Ranger has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Penn.
Penn throws a nice inside leg kick.
Good leg kick by Penn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Penn tries for a takedown but Ranger sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Penn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ranger on his heels. He'll look to pass Ranger's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Penn passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Penn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Penn has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ranger is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Penn yanks on the arm and Ranger is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Penn.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Steel Penn!
Steel Penn spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
