Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Rowles!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez takes a swing at Rowles's ribcage but misses.

Rowles drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Rowles.
Rowles trying to control the position but Gonzalez is working away.
Gonzalez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Rowles wants to control but Gonzalez is keeping him busy.
Rowles creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gonzalez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rowles fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rowles throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Rowles wants to control for a moment but Gonzalez uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gonzalez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gonzalez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Gonzalez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Rowles chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gonzalez can pounce on him.
Gonzalez misses with a straight left.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gonzalez.
Rowles looks gassed!
Gonzalez swats away the attempt to clinch by Rowles.
Gonzalez scores with a leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rowles defending well as Gonzalez loads up on a big left hand.
Rowles misses with a hook to the body
and Gonzalez counters with a head kick. That will keep Rowles thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Gonzalez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rowles seems to have recovered his senses.
Gonzalez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rowles scores with a hook to the body. Gonzalez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A head kick misses from Gonzalez.

Rowles scores with a body shot.
Rowles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gonzalez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gonzalez misses with an uppercut. Rowles saw that one coming.
Gonzalez throws a series of punches but Rowles avoids them all with ease.
Rowles lands a really nice looking cross but Gonzalez seems unphased.

Rowles looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gonzalez is staying active underneath Rowles, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rowles moves into full mount! Gonzalez won't be happy about that!
Rowles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rowles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rowles has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gonzalez's face.

Rowles jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gonzalez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Rowles is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gonzalez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gonzalez is pushing Rowles's head away, looking to escape. Rowles manages to hold on to the position though.
Rowles throws an elbow but Gonzalez slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gonzalez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rowles is controlling him well.
Rowles moves into full mount!
Gonzalez wants to try and get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rowles throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gonzalez because Rowles loaded up on that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Gonzalez will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Rowles shoots in for a double leg but Gonzalez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Nice combo by Gonzalez! Oh, that's hurt him - Rowles falls to the canvas and Gonzalez follows him into side control.

It looks like Paul Rowles has been cut.

Gonzalez decides to stand back up.
Jesus Gonzalez is winning the standup battle so far.
Gonzalez connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rowles! He's out on his feet! Gonzalez rushes in and drops Rowles with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
