Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, John Troy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Slick Johnson Jr! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson Jr moves into the clinch. Johnson Jr manages to break the clinch.
Johnson Jr scores with a takedown into Troy's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Troy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Johnson Jr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Troy is proving hard to escape from. Troy wants to sweep here but Johnson Jr controlling him for the moment. Troy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Troy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson Jr! Johnson Jr is working to get back to half guard.
Troy wants to control the pace but Johnson Jr is squirming around nicely. Johnson Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Troy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Troy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Johnson Jr is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Johnson Jr and Troy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Johnson Jr tries to bench press Troy off him but Troy keeps the position. Johnson Jr struggling a bit here. Johnson Jr is looking to regain half guard here but Troy keeps moving and retains side control. Johnson Jr can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson Jr is trying to get back to half guard. Johnson Jr wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Troy has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Johnson Jr's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Johnson Jr is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Troy!
