Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tenzu Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Eel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tenzu Mazuke could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eric Eel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tenzu Mazuke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Eel!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Mazuke decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tenzu Mazuke has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mazuke enables Eel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mazuke manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Eel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Eel wants it to stay on the feet.

Eel wants to get up but he can't break Mazuke's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

No luck for Mazuke with that takedown attempt.

Eel instigates a clinch.

Eel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mazuke as he avoids it easily.

Eel slaps away a takedown attempt from Mazuke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Eel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mazuke is fending him off so far but Eel persists. Nope, Mazuke circles away and we're back to standing.
Eel looks to land a body kick but Mazuke moved away.
Eel tries to clinch but Mazuke moves out of range.
Eel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Eric Eel will probably get the nod.

Eel throws an off balance right hand
and Mazuke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Eel moves in looking to clinch but Mazuke pushes him off.

Eel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mazuke napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mazuke sneaks back into half guard.
Eel wants to take a breather but Mazuke is having none of it.
Mazuke wants to control but Eel is keeping busy.
Eel wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Mazuke uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Mazuke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eel avoids it really well and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mazuke is trying hard to land a takedown here. Eel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Eel throws a head kick but Mazuke moves out of range.

Tenzu Mazuke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mazuke looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mazuke is thwarting Eel's attempts to control the position.

Mazuke is keen to just control but Eel is a slippery customer.

Mazuke is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Eel is staying active underneath Mazuke, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Eel tries to close the distance and clinch but Mazuke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mazuke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Eel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mazuke wants the takedown. Eel is fighting it off but Mazuke persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Eel's guard against the ropes.

Eel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mazuke wants to sweep here but Eel controlling him for the moment.
Eel wants to stand but Mazuke has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tenzu Mazuke.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
