Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ari Kantola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalle Kuusivirta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuusivirta has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Ari Kantola had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kantola throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kuusivirta tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kantola is in Kuusivirta's guard.
Kuusivirta looks winded!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kantola is looking to stand up but Kuusivirta won't let him.
Kantola is looking to work some ground and pound but Kuusivirta has wrist control.
Kantola wants to control from the top but Kuusivirta keeps moving.
Kuusivirta working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kantola.
Kantola throws a big right hand that misses.
Kantola trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kuusivirta's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Ari Kantola wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kantola bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kuusivirta's head.
Kantola throws a one two combo.
Kuusivirta has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kantola.
Kantola lands a big head kick that sends Kuusivirta tumbling to the mat! Kantola takes a step backwards and waves Kuusivirta back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kantola ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Kuusivirta's jaw. Kuusivirta's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Kantola does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ari Kantola!
