PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jero Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wolf comes into the arena with schism blaring out of the sound system. Champ Bombada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Jero Wolf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Champ Bombada!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombada thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Bombada misses the target.
Wolf closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bombada circles away.
Wolf shoots for a double leg takedown but Bombada sprawls well. He's pushed Wolf's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wolf bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wolf shoots in looking for a takedown. Bombada tries to sprawl out of it but Wolf keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bombada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jero Wolf. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bombada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bombada stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bombada wants it to stay on the feet.
Champ Bombada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bombada throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Wolf fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bombada to the ground. Wolf is now in Bombada's guard.

Wolf isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bombada stacks Wolf on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bombada!

Bombada decides to stand back up. Bombada steps back and let's Wolf get back to his feet.
Bombada throws a nice looking combination but Wolf bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wolf gets to his feet. Bombada looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wolf looks for a takedown but Bombada sprawls well.
Bombada cracks Wolf with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Champ Bombada will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wolf will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wolf shoots in looking for a takedown but Bombada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wolf's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wolf throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bombada's waist but Bombada gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wolf off to one side.

Wolf tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bombada sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wolf somewhat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bombada lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wolf circles away quickly and effectively.

Champ Bombada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Wolf has his foot on Bombada's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bombada works his way back into a safe position though.

Wolf working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bombada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bombada manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bombada throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wolf stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wolf takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

I would just about give that final round to Champ Bombada.
I've got Bombada winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Champ Bombada was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
