PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sidney Aron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ged Hax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sidney Aron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ged Hax!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hax gets a takedown into half guard.
Hax sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Aron defending well though.

Hax is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Aron trying to hold on to Hax's head to control him but Hax postures up.
Hax thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aron's head.

Hax is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aron is just riding it out for now. Hax eventually gives up the hold.

Hax is working for a submission of some sort.

Hax not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hax looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Aron on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Aron tries to get out of the position.

Hax is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aron sees it coming and defends easily.

Aron is defending against the submission attempts here by Hax.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

so Aron counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Aron wants to pass the guard but Hax is keeping the position.

Aron is working Hax over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hax is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hax drops back looking for a leg! Aron is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aron manages to kick Hax off! Hax jumps back into Aron's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hax postures up.
Hax working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hax's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Aron is trying to keep Hax in close.

Hax in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hax postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hax stands up over Aron, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hax scoring with some ground and pound.
Aron working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hax.
Hax pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aron is keeping the position for now.

Hax has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hax drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hax jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ged Hax showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hax drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hax seems to have locked his on tight now - Aron screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hax, as he picks up the win!
