Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex KwonDo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Bodoque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dario Bodoque! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! KwonDo misses with a straight left. Bodoque avoids a punch combination nicely.
KwonDo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bodoque is looking to clinch but KwonDo is avoiding it.
KwonDo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. KwonDo gets in close and instigates a clinch. KwonDo can't get the takedown.
KwonDo wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex KwonDo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bodoque tries to throw a body punch but KwonDo avoids it by throwing Bodoque back against the cage. KwonDo misses with the head strike.
KwonDo misses with a short punch on the inside. KwonDo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. KwonDo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bodoque is trying to keep an underhook but KwonDo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Bodoque is trying to stand back up but KwonDo is controlling him
KwonDo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bodoque can do anything to dispel that myth. KwonDo is tying to control. Bodoque wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bodoque is trying to maintain the position but KwonDo is very close to passing his half guard. KwonDo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. KwonDo working Bodoque over with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. KwonDo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. KwonDo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bodoque with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. KwonDo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Bodoque really doesn't want to stay on the ground with KwonDo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. KwonDo raining down shots from the mount! KwonDo is in the full mount, landing strikes.

KwonDo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. KwonDo punching from mount but Bodoque doing a good job of avoiding damage. Bodoque is looking to improve his position but KwonDo isn't that keen on the idea. KwonDo is in the full mount, landing strikes. KwonDo lands with some strikes. KwonDo is in the full mount, landing strikes. KwonDo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Bodoque is rocked! KwonDo with shots to the head and body - Bodoque looks very uncomfortable down there. Bodoque is still in real trouble! Can KwonDo finish him? KwonDo loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bodoque scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from KwonDo land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. KwonDo stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rex KwonDo! Rex KwonDo retains his heavyweight title!
