Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rocky Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan doesn't manage to clinch there - Mejias circles away.
Mejias ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rocky Sullivan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sullivan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Good exchange - Mejias coming out on top.
Mejias fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sullivan on the side of the head.

Mejias swats away the attempt to clinch by Sullivan.

Sullivan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mejias.

Mejias throws a jab when Sullivan was well out of range.

Sullivan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mejias's waist but Mejias gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sullivan off to one side.

Sullivan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mejias tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sullivan is in Mejias's guard.

Mejias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sullivan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sullivan pushes down on Mejias's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Mejias is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sullivan pulls his head out easily.
Sullivan wants to pass to mount but Mejias is defending the position.

Mejias kicks Sullivan off and gets back to his feet.
Sullivan shoots in looking for a takedown. Mejias tries to sprawl out of it but Sullivan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mejias manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mejias keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Sullivan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mejias.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sullivan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mejias counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mejias changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mejias cracks Sullivan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nice defenses there by Sullivan.
Sullivan throws a shot from downtown. Mejias moves away and avoids it.

Some wild striking there from Mejias.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mejias as he jumps to the side.
Sullivan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sullivan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd cheers as Mejias lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sullivan doesn't seem phased though.
Sullivan throws a hook but Mejias blocks it.
Mejias lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Mejias bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sullivan's head.

Sullivan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mejias scores with a jab to the jaw.
Sullivan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sullivan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luis Mejias showed his dominance in that final round.
