Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rebel Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wayne might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Something in the Way by Nirvana. Johnson has chosen If you want blood, you got it by AC/DC as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Wayne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rebel Johnson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Wayne there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wayne pinned against the cage. Wayne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Wayne which made him look bad. Wayne lands a leg kick that knocks Johnson off balance momentarily. Jab by Wayne. Johnson scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ronnie Wayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson shoots in but Wayne avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ronnie Wayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rebel Johnson. Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wayne avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wayne rushes Johnson and presses him up against the cage. Johnson jumps guard but Wayne turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Johnson tries to pull guard but Wayne won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne lands a nice elbow. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Wayne is controlling him. Johnson looking for a takedown. Wayne pushes off an throws an elbow but Johnson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Wayne is pushing Johnson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Wayne lands a right hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Johnson gets control of Wayne's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wayne's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wayne is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him. Wayne is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ronnie Wayne wasn't doing enough on the ground. Wayne lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wayne defends it nicely. Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wayne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wayne has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage. Wayne avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wayne has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture. Johnson won't allow Wayne to sweep him here. Wayne utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wayne wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Wayne slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard. Wayne wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his posture from full guard. Wayne postures up.
Wayne has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wayne defends well. Wayne is stalling in the full guard. Wayne stands up from guard. Let's bang! Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wayne tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wayne to the ground. Wayne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronnie Wayne dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wayne pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch. Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wayne has picked Johnson up and slammed him! Johnson can't keep hold of the triangle and Wayne manages to pass to side control! Wayne slows the pace down. Johnson is looking to reverse the position. Wayne trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Wayne decides to stand back up. Wayne steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Wayne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wayne holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wayne keeping control of the position. Wayne is trying to control but can't.
Wayne is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
We're going to have a standup here because Ronnie Wayne wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nice takedown defense from Wayne. No joy for Johnson on that attempt. Johnson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wayne gets a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Wayne is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wayne wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Johnson trying to strike off his back.
Wayne decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get! Wayne pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch. Johnson looking for a takedown. Ronnie Wayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rebel Johnson. Johnson is working for takedown but Wayne is calmly controlling the position for now. Wayne missing with knees to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson takes a shot to the head. Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Johnson pulls guard. Wayne decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Wayne is looking to clinch. Wayne dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage! Wayne scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though. Wayne connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Wayne doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.

Wayne works the jab nicely. Wayne keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wayne jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wayne feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf. Wayne bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Johnson's head backwards.
Johnson is rocked! Wayne lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Johnson up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Wayne from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Johnson's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ronnie Wayne! In his post fight interview, Ronnie Wayne started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
