Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Lajic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodolfo Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lajic comes to the cage accompanied by snoop doggy dogg - who am I. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Lajic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodolfo Vieira! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vieira misses with a takedown attempt - Lajic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lajic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lajic has Vieira up against the cage in a clinch.
Lajic using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Vieira has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

It looks like Rodolfo Vieira has been cut. Lajic tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vieira's elbow. Vieira wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Vieira tries to pull guard but Lajic forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Lajic stalls. Lajic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vieira misses with a takedown attempt - Lajic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. David Lajic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodolfo Vieira. Lajic gets in close and instigates a clinch. Vieira turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vieira manages to end up in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lajic tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Lajic just trying to survive but Vieira is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. I really don't envy Lajic right now.
Lajic defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Vieira's arms. Lajic has hold of Vieira's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts. Lajic fending off the submission attempt from Vieira. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lajic breaks Vieira's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lajic's corner is telling him to maintain position. Vieira throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lajic escapes and throws Vieira's legs to the side, diving into side control! Vieira is trying to get back to half guard. Vieira can't do much from the bottom here. Lajic in side control, just content to control the action for now. Lajic working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lajic remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vieira manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Vieira trying to control the action but Lajic is working from the bottom. Lajic is holding on to half guard well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lajic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vieira swats him away and circles back towards the center. Vieira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lajic as he avoids it easily. Lajic gets cracked there but stands up to it.
It looks like David Lajic has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Vieira. No joy for Lajic on that attempt. David Lajic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vieira stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vieira wants it to stay on the feet. Lajic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lajic is breathing heavily. Lajic clinches with his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lajic trying to control the position from guard on top but Vieira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lajic won't allow Vieira to sweep him here. Vieira controls Lajic momentarily but Lajic frees himself. Vieira is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lajic defends well. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vieira keeping moving, preventing Lajic from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodolfo Vieira dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lajic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vieira but Vieira pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vieira shoots in but no luck this time. Lajic tries to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Vieira closes the distance and clinches up with Lajic, looking for a takedown. Vieira pushes Lajic against the cage but Lajic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lajic stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lajic wants it to stay on the feet. David Lajic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodolfo Vieira. Vieira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lajic tries to avoid it but Vieira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lajic to the ground. Lajic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lajic feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vieira's calf. Vieira will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. No luck for Lajic with that takedown attempt. Lajic clinches with his opponent.

Lajic is adopting a defensive guard. Vieira trying to control but Lajic is working from the bottom. Lajic is looking to stand up but Vieira isn't so interested in that idea. Lajic is pulling down on Vieira's head to control his posture. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Lajic is trying to keep Vieira in close.

We're going to have a standup here because David Lajic wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sloppy strikes from Vieira. Those never looked like landing. Lajic tries to clinch but Vieira is having none of it. Lajic rushes Vieira and presses him up against the cage. Vieira changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lajic fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Vieira is trying to maintain a safe position but Lajic gets an underhook and turns Vieira into the cage. Nice body punch from Lajic. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lajic goes for a takedown attempt but Vieira pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lajic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vieira is fending him off so far but Lajic persists. Nope, Vieira circles away and we're back to standing. Lajic throws a series of punches but Vieira moves out of range. Vieira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lajic's waist but Lajic gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vieira off to one side. Lajic lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Lajic tries to close the distance and clinch but Vieira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vieira fails to land the takedown. Lajic closes the distance and clinches. Lajic lands a hook that snaps the head of Vieira backwards. Lajic lands a nice knee to the body. Lajic landing knees to the body.
Lajic ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lajic no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lajic pulls Vieira in to control the position. Vieira throwing strikes from guard but Lajic blocks nicely. Lajic will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Vieira drops back looking for a leg! Lajic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lajic manages to kick Vieira off! Vieira jumps back into Lajic's guard. Lajic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lajic keeping moving, preventing Vieira from controlling successfully. Lajic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lajic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vieira, pushing him back against the cage. Lajic tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vieira avoids it. Vieira has Lajic pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vieira pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lajic tumbling to the mat - Vieira dives into Lajic's guard. Vieira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lajic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lajic is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lajic is striking off his back. Vieira thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Vieira is trying to work for a kimura but Lajic is defending well.

Lajic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vieira on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vieira is trying to control. Lajic wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lajic keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Vieira content to control rather than advance. Lajic tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Vieira has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Vieira working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Vieira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lajic is looking to escape. Vieira thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Vieira avoids the attempt from Lajic to control. Vieira thowing shots but they're missing. Lajic wants to hold on but Vieira pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vieira moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lajic has worked his arm free - good work by Lajic!

Vieira takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vieira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Vieira decides to stand back up. David Lajic is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vieira scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Vieira is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lajic is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lajic tries to bench press Vieira off him but Vieira keeps the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lajic is working hard here to advance position. Vieira throwing strikes but Lajic manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vieira is trying to improve his position. Vieira can't do much from the bottom here. Vieira is looking to reverse the position. Lajic remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vieira tries to bench press Lajic off him but Lajic keeps the position. Vieira is trying to control Lajic's posture but Lajic avoids it.
And that's the end of the fight! Rodolfo Vieira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Vieira has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
