Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pets Lammutaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Joe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Joe!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lammutaja.
Lammutaja closes the distance and clinches up with Joe, looking for a takedown. Lammutaja pushes Joe against the cage but Joe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lammutaja shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Joe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lammutaja is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Joe throws a right hand that Lammutaja ducks under and follows up with a left that Lammutaja also avoids with ease.
Lammutaja moves in looking to clinch but Joe pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lammutaja looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Joe just misses with a punch to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lammutaja.

Lammutaja drives through and clinches with Joe against the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lammutaja obliges.

Lammutaja is trying to drag Joe to the mat but Joe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Joe throws a series of punches but Lammutaja avoids them all with ease.
Lammutaja closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lammutaja shoots in looking for a takedown but Joe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lammutaja's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Joe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lammutaja throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Joe on the side of the head.
Pets Lammutaja is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joe throws a sloppy head kick and Lammutaja moves out of range easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pets Lammutaja.
Well Lammutaja has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
