Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wavy Davy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kong King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Davy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil. Kong King is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Wavy Davy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kong King!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davy checks a low kick from King.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
Davy scores with a punch to the head.
Some wild striking there from Davy.
King scores with a jab to the body.

King looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Davy wants to sweep here but King controlling him for the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells King's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

King throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
King postures up and lands a big shot to Davy's brow.
King wants to control from the top but Davy keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Wavy Davy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Davy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Davy was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard.
King works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King is stalling here. Davy is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! King seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Davy has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Davy is staying tight to King's torso, preventing him from escaping.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


King fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Davy is out of range.

and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
King lands a nice shot to the body.
Davy thows a left - swing and a miss!
Davy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by King.
King misses with a body shot.
King fails to land the takedown.
King scores with a hook to the body. Davy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Davy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Davy tries to clinch but King moves out of range.
Davy avoids the body shot from King.
Wavy Davy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King scores with a nice head shot.
King misses with a wild body shot.
King misses with a takedown attempt - Davy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wavy Davy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kong King.
Davy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck King on the side of the head.

King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
King takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Davy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Kong King has been cut.
Davy moves out of range of the strikes.
King walks into a left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Davy looks to land a body kick but King moved away.

King stuns Davy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Davy cracks a nice hook into King's ribs.
King looks for a takedown but Davy sprawls well.
Davy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Davy counters with a straight right hand.

King is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Davy rather than just go for the knockout.

Davy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and King connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Davy scrambles back to his feet.
King throws a shot from downtown. Davy moves away and avoids it.

Davy connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between King's hands.
Nice sprawl there from Davy as King shoots in.

Davy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from King.
Davy swings for the body but King moves out of range.
Davy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.
Davy cracks King with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
King takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
King misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Davy counters with a good low kick that King was not able to check.
Wavy Davy is winning the standup battle so far.
Davy slips a straight right by King.
Kong King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King has a takedown stuffed.
Wavy Davy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kong King.
King shoots in looking for a takedown. Davy tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

King bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davy is looking for a sweep.
Davy is working hard here to advance position.
King lands a nice forearm strike.

Davy tries to bench press King off him but King keeps the position.
King landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
King lands an elbow.
King in side control lands a decent elbow.
King fails to land a wild elbow strike.
King looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Davy is avoiding damage well.
Davy is not content to let King control the position.

King tries to move into full mount but can't pass Davy's legs.
King works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King throws a strike aimed at the side of Davy's head but Davy avoids it well.
King creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Davy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King works to advance to full mount. Davy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kong King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
