Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koko Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel David!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows David to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Benn keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Benn manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Benn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
David tries to land a sweep but no joy.
David trying to keep a closed guard but Benn is proving a slippery customer.

Benn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but David manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Benn has David in his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
David trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
David trying to control but Benn is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Daniel David was stalling too much, according to the referee.
David misses with a wild combination.

David drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

David is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Benn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
David laying and praying for a moment but Benn takes advantage and regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Benn has one foot on David's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Benn keeps the fight on the outside.

David shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Benn is trying to defend but David finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
David is trying to control. Benn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
David thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
David is just content to waste time from the top position. Benn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
David tries to free his leg and advance position but Benn is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel David dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Benn enables David to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Benn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
David looking to sit in guard and control but Benn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
David working a defensive guard here.
David has his hands on Benn's head, controlling the position.

Benn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Benn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Benn drops back, looking for a kneebar! David looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. David looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from David!
David wants to control but Benn is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
David tries to advance to mount but can't.
Benn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
David is trying to ground and pound but Benn uses the momentary lack of control by David to regain half guard.
David is just content to waste time from the top position. Benn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Benn pushes David off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

David gets a double leg takedown into Benn's guard.
David trying to control the position from guard on top but Benn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Daniel David wasn't active enough on the ground.

Benn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Benn seems to be looking for submissions.

Benn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Benn moves nicely into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Benn is trying to get an arm triangle but David is defending well.
David is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Benn off and has taken his back!

Benn is in a bad position with David working for a choke. Benn manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Benn drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Benn as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! David screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Benn! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Koko Benn!
