Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Kane will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Kane!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Rashad Evans has been cut.

Evans shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Evans is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Evans is looking to stall here but Kane recovers full guard.
Kane wants to sweep but no luck.
Kane working a defensive guard here.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Kane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Evans passes Kane's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Evans thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kane is refusing to be controlled, as Evans sits in half guard.
Evans not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Evans looks to land a strike but Kane avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Evans could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Evans working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Evans pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kane is keeping the position for now.
Kane can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Evans controls the pace.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but Kane has wrist control.

Evans postures up in Kane's guard and throws a big left but Kane blocks it.
Kane keeping full guard, as Evans tries to pass.
Kane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans throws a strike but Kane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Evans is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Evans on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evans tries to get out of the position.
Evans wants to sweep but no luck.

Kane trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Evans pulls Kane in close to his closed guard and prevents Kane from doing any damage or advancing position.
Evans might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kane lands a really nice looking cross but Evans seems unphased.
Evans fails with an attempt to clinch.

Evans is looking to clinch but Kane is avoiding it.
Kane lands a head shot.
Evans walks into a jab.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Evans is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kane lands an overhand right.
Evans on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kane lands a head shot.
Evans tries to clinch there but Kane circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Evans.
Christian Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kane's corner calls for a 1-2. Kane obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Christian Kane will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Rashad Evans's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Evans momentarily.
Kane scores with a decent looking hook.
Kane fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kane uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Evans has time to react.
Evans takes one to the chin there.
Kane bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Evans takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kane might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Kane cracks Evans with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


Evans is rocked!
Kane fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Oh Evans is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kane connects with a right hand. Evans shakes it off.
Evans takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Evans seems to have got his legs back now.

Kane cracks Evans with an open hand slap.
Christian Kane seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kane uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Evans has time to react.
Kane moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Rashad Evans's cut is getting worse.
Kane lands a slapping body shot.

Evans gets a clinch.
Kane lands with a right to the head.
Kane lands a hook to the side of the head.
Evans misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Evans to keep the fight standing.
Kane scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kane lands a shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kane creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kane prevents a body shot from Evans.

Kane stops a takedown attempt from Evans.
Evans tries a body shot but Kane blocks it.
Evans misses with a body punch.
Evans tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Kane decides to pull guard.
Kane keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kane is on top in guard.

Kane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Evans has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kane has managed to get both his arms back between Evans's legs - danger averted.
Evans wants to stand but Kane is controlling the position.

Kane slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Evans pushes Kane away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kane gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Kane controls the position.
Evans tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Evans is desperately trying to improve his position but Kane has a good base and remains in mount.
Kane tries to control but Evans wriggling away.

Evans is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Evans is squirming around, avoiding Kane's attempts to control the action.
Kane prevents Evans from getting the reversal.
Evans wants to control but Kane is having none of it.
Kane controlling from the full mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Evans is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kane lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kane lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Evans takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Good standup being displayed there by Kane as he connects with a hook.
Kane has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Evans moves into the clinch successfully.
Evans tries to throw a body punch but Kane avoids it by throwing Evans back against the cage.
Evans is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kane gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Evans is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kane pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kane is trying to push Evans away but Evans has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kane looking for a sweep. Not yet Kane, not yet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kane is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Evans is controlling him.

Evans in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
Kane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard.
Evans is trying to hold Kane in close to prevent damage but Kane has managed to pass into half guard.
Evans pushes Kane off looking to stand but Kane dives back in and keeps control.
Kane passes into side control, despite Evans's attempt to control the position.
Evans is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Evans throws Kane to one side and escapes!
Kane lands a jab.
Evans takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashad Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kane stuffs the takedown.
Kane throws a front kick aimed at Evans's knee but Evans avoids it well.
Evans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Christian Kane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Evans takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Evans dives in and grabs Kane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes down on Evans's head and hops out.
Kane feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Evanss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Evans takes a jab right on the kisser.
A jab from Kane finds it's way through Evans's defenses.
Kane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Evans is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans tries to clinch up.
Evans shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kane but Kane pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kane scores with a jab to the body.
Evans wants to clinch up but Kane keeps it at a distance.
Evans walks into a left hand.
Evans takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Kane connects with a right hand. Evans shakes it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Evans looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rashad Evans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kane clobbers Evans with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

And that's the end of the fight!
Christian Kane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kane winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
