Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Spencer Fisher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh McRoberts! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McRoberts as he avoids it easily. Fisher misses with a takedown and McRoberts counters with a nice low kick that buckles Fisher's knee momentarily. Fisher has McRoberts up against the ropes in a clinch.
Fisher tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Fisher throws a head punch that misses. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fisher. McRoberts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Fisher jumps into guard, dragging McRoberts to the mat.
McRoberts trying to control the position from guard on top but Fisher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McRoberts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. After a battle for position, McRoberts asserts his dominance and retains side control. Fisher is trying to improve his position. McRoberts prevents Fisher from getting back to his feet. Fisher tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McRoberts has gone for a leg lock! Fisher slips out almost immediately though and dives into McRoberts's guard. McRoberts keeping moving, preventing Fisher from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fisher advances position into side control! Fisher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McRoberts tries to avoid it but Fisher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McRoberts to the ground. McRoberts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fisher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McRoberts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McRoberts circles away from the clinch attempt.

Fisher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McRoberts's guard.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fisher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fisher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McRoberts looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fisher wants to pass the guard but McRoberts is keeping the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fisher throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McRoberts works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McRoberts trying to keep a closed guard but Fisher is proving a slippery customer.
McRoberts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fisher defends well. McRoberts has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fisher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fisher postures up and lands a big shot to McRoberts's brow.

Fisher gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fisher wants to control from the top but McRoberts keeps moving. Fisher is working McRoberts over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. McRoberts preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. McRoberts looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
