Vega comes to the cage accompanied by Dead N Gone. Develen Elvington looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Esteban Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Develen Elvington!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Vega misses.
Vega pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vega misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Elvington.
Elvington stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vega.
Vega throws a nice inside leg kick.
Vega misses the jab.
Elvington takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Elvington throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vega loads up on a big right hand but Elvington slips the punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vega looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vega is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vega thuds a left hand into Elvington's body.
A big right from Elvington misses.
Vega connects with the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vega, right into the meat.
Vega waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Elvington.

Vega fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Elvington, pushing him back against the cage.
Elvington is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vega pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Elvington looks winded!
Vega is looking to control Elvington's arms but Elvington gets an underhook and turns him. Now Vega has his back to the cage.

Elvington tries to throw a body punch but Vega avoids it by throwing Elvington back against the cage.
Elvington avoids the elbow strike from Vega, against the cage.
Vega misses with a body punch.
Elvington tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Vega will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Elvington up against the cage.
Vega gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Vega lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is keeping an eye on Vega - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Vega trying to stall but Elvington improves his position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Esteban Vega.
A telegraphed right hand from Vega misses the target.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vega, right into the meat.
Vega feints and then cracks Elvington's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Elvington down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vega throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vega lunges at Elvington with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Elvington's hand.
Elvington keeps the fight on the outside.
Elvington misses with a looping right.
A big right from Vega misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vega. Elvington does a little dance to reset his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Elvington.
Elvington throws a body punch but Vega moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vega throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vega throws a head kick that misses.
Elvington throws a right and a left that Vega avoids nicely.
Vega slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Elvington takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Vega moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Elvington throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Vega clinches up with Elvington and pushes him back against the cage.
Elvington has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vega avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Vega goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Vega lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Elvington backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vega lands a body shot in the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A hook to the body from Vega.
Vega scores with a hook to the body.
Vega stalling the fight.
Vega is trying to maintain a safe position but Elvington gets an underhook and turns Vega into the cage.
Vega goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vega creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Vega lands with a short shot to the head.
Vega slows down the pace here.
Vega lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Elvington.
Vega lands a left hand.
Vega blocks the elbow strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Vega breaks from the clinch.
A cross from Vega lands.
Elvington throws a lazy uppercut
and Vega counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Elvington thinking.
Vega connects with a leg kick. Elvington looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Esteban Vega dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Elvington takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vega ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Vega ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vega throws a leg kick which misses Elvington's front leg but catches the back leg as Elvington tries to avoid it.
Elvington tries for a takedown but Vega sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Vega smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Vega throws a head kick that half lands.

Vega lands a left and a right that send Elvington crashing to the mat, dazed. Vega thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Elvington is rocked!


It looks like Develen Elvington has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vega drops Elvington with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Elvington looks back up at him and smiles so Vega waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Elvington is still on wobbly legs! Can Vega finish him?
Vega lands with a big right hook that stumbles Elvington - he's out on his feet here! Vega follows up with another monster hook that separates Elvington from consciousness! Elvington falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Vega stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Esteban Vega!
After winning the bout, Esteban Vega thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
